Band: Death From Above 1979

Death From Above 1979 is a dance punk/alternative (very
alternative >_>) band formed in Toronto, Canada, by Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastian Grainger. An interesting feature of DFA1979 is that the band refused to employ a guitarist, relying on Keeler's bass/synths and Grainger's drums/vocals to deliver their unique brand of upbeat, noisy, funky sonic assault. DFA1979 is a very loud, belligerent band, with the duo barreling all over the musical spectrum in a wild attack on your eardrums that takes you in from the first notes. Unfortunately, the band only released one full length album, 2004's You're A Woman, I'm A Machine, before parting ways. They did, however, release an excellent EP, Heads Up. I'd strongly recommend both if you like having fun at all. If you don't like having fun, you're a bad person, and you should feel bad. It was actually pretty hard finding a song from DFA1979 on Youtube, but never fear, Aaron is here, and so is If We Don't Make It, We'll Fake It, from Heads Up.

Enjoy, and be sure to let me know what you think!
